Leopard Gecko Heating
The temperature range for Leopard geckos are relatively easy to
maintain, sometimes even without additional heating equipment.
Leopard geckos will thrive in 25 - 32 ºC / 77 - 90 ºF with a
drop to room temperature during the night. If you're however
situated in colder regions with average room temperatures below
23 ºC / 73 ºF additional Leopard gecko heating must be supplied.
Leopard Gecko Heating Equipment
Most Leopard gecko vivariums will be warm enough with the
addition of a
Leopard gecko heat pad / heat strip or
Leopard gecko
heat lamp. The distance from the lamp to the bottom surface
can be increased to decrease the temperature. This should be placed
on one side of the vivarium and should not cover more than 25%
of the floor space (this is especially important in smaller
containers!). A
thermometer can be used to test the heating
temperature at regular intervals. |
