Leopard Gecko Defaecatorial Behavior

Leopard geckos are known to have what is called a Leopard gecko defaecatorial behavior. This normal Leopard gecko behavior causes them to deposit their droppings in the same area of their enclosure. It is like creating a toilet area.

This defaecation behavior makes it easy to clean the enclosure and Leopard gecko substrate. It can also give you an indication of the Leopard gecko hygiene practices someone is using, i.e. the frequent accumulation of dropping usually goes hand in hand with poor husbandry practices.
