Leopard Gecko Incubation Period
The Leopard gecko incubation period is more or less dependant on
the
incubation temperature. Higher temperatures will lead to a
shorter incubation period and vice versa. The normal
Leopard gecko incubation period at 26 - 32 °C / 80 - 90 °F is
about 47 days (give or take up to 4 days).
Because Leopard geckos have a so-called temperature dependant
sexual dimorphism, where more males are born at higher
temperatures, the Leopard gecko incubation period is shorter for
this gender (ca. 47 - 51 days). When the temperatures are
generally lower, more females will be born, but the incubation
period will be longer (ca. 43 - 47 days). |
